About the Irwin Club
The Irwin Club is named after Charles H. Irwin, the first Chairman of the Department of Physical Education and Athletic Director for GVSU. Its purpose is to provide moral and financial support for GVSU athletics. The Irwin Club is connected to every scholarship and endowment fund for intercollegiate athletics and is the primary fundraising arm for the department.
Moving GVSU Forward
Giving to the Irwin Club is key to ensuring GVSU has the best student-athletes, facilities, and staff in the country. In the past decade, Grand Valley State has been recognized as one of the best programs in NCAA Division II, finishing in the top two of the NACDA Directors' Cup standings (Eight first place finishes). Every Irwin Club member plays a huge role in keeping the Lakers a national power for years to come.
