Veach Earns GLIAC North Division Player of the Week Honors

GVSU sophomore guard Emma Veach was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Monday (Feb. 8), as released by the league offices. The Lakers' leader in points and rebounds this season, Veach averaged 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in a pair of Grand Valley State wins over Findlay and Hillsdale. GVSU is 16-5 on the year with a 13-3 record in conference play. (more)

Strong First Half Leads GVSU Over Hillsdale, 52-46

Grand Valley State used a dominating 27-7 run to close out the first half against Hillsdale on Saturday night (Feb. 6) and the Lakers held on for a tough 52-46 victory over the Chargers in Fieldhouse Arena. GVSU owned a huge 28-8 advantage in points in the paint and a 23-6 edge in bench points, as the Lakers won for the ninth time in their last 10 home games. (more)

Kretz, Taylor, Veach Give Lakers 77-67 Win Over Hillsdale

Grand Valley State received a stellar team effort on Saturday night (Feb. 6) against Hillsdale in GVSU Fieldhouse Arena, knocking off the Chargers, 77-67. Sophomore guard Kelly Kretz scored a career-high 20 points, while sophomore Emma Veach and freshman Briauna Taylor each tallied double-doubles in the win for GVSU. (more)
