Grand Valley State placed nine players on the All-GLIAC First Team and two on the All-GLIAC Second Team, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC) announced on Friday, Nov. 7. In addition, the Lakers earned Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards. (more)

Jaleen Dingledine and Erin Hilbert scored twice to help Grand Valley State defeat Northern Michigan 9-1 on Friday (Nov. 6) afternoon. The No. 3 Lakers advance to the GLIAC Championship match against Saginaw Valley State at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9. (more)

Grand Valley State dropped a four-set contest to visiting Northern Michigan on Friday night (Nov. 6) at GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. NMU earned revenge from a mid-season loss to the Lakers by defeating GVSU, 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17). The Lakers fall to 15-11 on the year with a 10-5 mark in GLIAC play. (more)

Grand Valley State trailed by just five points midway through the second half of its exhibition game at Indiana on Thursday night (Nov. 5), but the Hoosiers eventually pulled away, defeating the Lakers, 80-70, in Bloomington, Ind. GVSU trailed at halftime by just a point and opened its 2009-10 season strong against the Big Ten program. (more)
