2K10 Brings New Era of Promotions
2K10 brings New Era of promotions for Laker Athletics as Grand Valley State University celebrates their 50th anniversary. The game day experience will be unlike anything fans have experienced before with new promotions and experiences on display throughout the year.
Football
The Uccello’s Tailgate Zone will be the newest addition to Laker tailgating. Located in Lot C West, adjacent to the tennis courts will be the Uccello’s Tailgate Zone. The Zone will have free sampling from Uccello’s and Krispy Kreme. The Zone is also home to the GVSU Football Tailgate Radio Show presented by J&H Family Stores. All Tailgate Radio shows will be broadcasted live on WMUS 106.9 from the Uccello’s Tailgate Zone during GVSU home football games. All away games will be live from Uccello’s in Standale.
The sound of country music fills Lubbers Stadium as fans scream for their shot at a prized t-shirt. A mainstay at GVSU men’s and women’s basketball games, the thrill of the Campus West Go West t-shirt toss is now being brought to the Lubbers Stadium stage.
Women’s Soccer
The Qdoba All You Can Eat promotion is brand new for soccer in 2010. Qdoba will provide all the food you can eat to the first 100 people into GVSU soccer games on September 24 and October 15. Come watch the 2009 National Championship Laker Soccer team in action and get free Qdoba food.
Volleyball
The New Era brings an exciting new ticket offer for Laker volleyball. The “$15 FREE” promotion gives fans the chance to buy tickets to any three Laker volleyball games and receive $15 worth of free merchandise to the brand-new Louie’s Locker Room. Louie’s Locker Room will have exclusive game day merchandise available only at volleyball games.
50th Anniversary
The 50th anniversary of Grand Valley State University will be celebrated all year long around campus. Laker Athletics will be joining the celebration by having throw-back games for each sport. Each team will wear special throw back jerseys at one specific game. Each of the fall sport throw-back games will be during Homecoming weekend and the dates can be found below:
Volleyball: Friday, October 8 vs. Lake Erie College 7:00 pm
Football: Saturday, October 9 vs. Northern Michigan 7:00 pm
Soccer: Sunday, October 10 vs. Saginaw Valley State 12:00 pm
