Bay City, Mich. - Grand Valley State sophomore Megan Maceratini was named the GLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 14). Maceratini helped the Lakers to a first-place finish at the Michigan Intercollegiates Cross Country Championship in Milford, Mich. last Friday (Oct. 14).

GVSU placed seven runners in the top-10, led by Maceratini, who won the 5K race with a time of 18:33. The Lakers recorded a score of 22 points, finishing ahead of Western Michigan (111), Eastern Michigan (115), and Calvin College (133). Grand Valley State had a team score of 1:34:26 and an average time of 18:53, more than a minute faster than Western Michigan.

The Lakers compete again at the GLIAC Championships in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. on Oct. 25.
