Grand Valley State University senior Mandi Zemba finished second at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, breaking the school record with a time of 17:16. Zemba had set the previous record of 17:56 in the first meet of the 2005 season.

Mandi helped the Lakers to a second place finish overall with 73 points, finishing just behind DI Marquette University.

This is the second time this season Zemba has been named GLIAC Women's Runner of the Week.

GVSU will run at Oakland in the Michigan Intercollegiate Invitational on Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
