BAY CITY, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced that redshirt freshman Jessica Janecke (Scales Mound, Ill./Wahlert Catholic) has been named the GLIAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Janecke ran the second-fastest 5k cross country time in GVSU history at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday (Sept. 29). Janecke was the top Division II finisher, completing the course in a time of 17:25.99 to finish 30th in the gold 5 kilometer, the highlight race of the meet. Her performance led the Lakers against a host of Division I competition, as the Lakers finished 13th out of 31 schools, 28 of which were Division I.
