Senior Mandi Zemba was named the GLIAC Runner of the Week after winning the Aquinas Open and breaking a GVSU school record with a time of 17:56. The previous record of 18:00 was set by senior Melissa Smith in 1998. Zemba's effort led the Lakers, who posted the top eight out of the top nine finishes. GVSU won the meet over Hope Collge (Mich.) by a score of 16-71.

The Lakers will run in the Ferris State Open on Sept. 23 at 5:00 p.m.
