Megan Maceratini finished 12th to pace all Lakers.

East Lansing, Mich. - Grand Valley State University sent its cross country teams to the 2008 Spartan Invitational on Friday. In a non-scored event, Megan Maceratini led the Lakers with a 12th place finish on the women's side. Tyler Emmorey was the leader on the men's side, placing 17th overall.

Maceratini paced the Lakers with a time of 22:09. Right behind her was Lynsey Ardingo, whose time of 22:25 was good enough for 15th place. Kelly Gibbons placed 18th just three seconds behind Ardingo and Amy Koliln's 22nd place finish came with a time of 22:39. Eileen Creutz reached the top 25, placing 25th with a time of 22:44.

Emmorey's time of 25:36 was the top time on the GVSU men's team. Jeff Nordquist and Anthony Witt placed 26th and 27th, respectively, at 26:05. Nathan Knisely and Chris Hammer were the next two Lakers across the line. Knisely took 35th with a time of 26:19, while Hammer's 26:23 put him in 36th place.
