Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's cross country team took home a fourth-place finish at the Calvin College Invitational in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Saturday (Sept. 20). GVSU finished behind champion Calvin College, while Case Western Reserve and UW-Oshkosh rounded out the top three schools.

Grand Valley State placed ahead of Aquinas and Ohio Northern, at fourth and fifth place, respectively. Junior Leah Borns was the Lakers' top finisher at 18:49, putting her 12th overall, while sophomore Katherine McCarthy was 13th at 18:51. Freshman Kelly Crowley was 21st with a time of 19:12.

Sophomore Lori Burgess was 32nd with a time of 19:42 and freshman Hannah Cavicchio placed 41st at 20:01.

The Lakers compete again at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Oct. 3.
