East Lansing, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's cross country team participated at the Spartan Invitational Friday afternoon in East Lansing, Mich. The Lakers competed against Division I foes Michigan State, Michigan, Miami (Ohio) and Central Michigan. The Lakers were the only school to place six among the top 22. Michigan State placed five among the top 22, while Michigan and Miami each placed four.

"I thought we competed extremely well against some good competition," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "It was nice to evaluate where we stand at this point of the season against the Big 10 and MAC," added Baltes.

Megan Maceratini finished sixth with a time of 21:45, while Lynsey Ardingo crossed the finish line in 11th (22:03). Eileen Creutz finished 18th with a time of 22:23, while Julia Novak was 20th (22:25). Jessie Vickers crossed the finish line in 22:28 and finished 21st, while Amy Kolin finished 22nd with a time of 22:30.
