Grand Valley State had two Lakers named to the 2004 Great Lakes Region All-Tournament team. Senior outside hitter Stephanie Maciasz-Dow and junior middle blocker Tracy Kirk both earned All-Tournament honors. The Lakers dropped a 3-1 decision to Northern Michigan in the semifinals, ending the season with a 27-7 overall record. Northern Michigan went on the win the 2004 Great Lakes Regional title with a 3-1 win over Northwood.
