Grand Valley State had two players named to the 2005 Daktronics Great Lakes Region Volleyball Teams. Senior Tracy Kirk earned Great Lakes Region First Team honors, while junior Megan Helsen was named to the Second Team.

Kirk leads the Lakers with 3.98 kills per game. Her .377 hitting percentage ranks first on the team and 20th in the nation. It also tops GVSU's all-time single-season list. Tracy ranks second on the team, averaging 1.07 blocks per game. Kirk has added 59 digs, 34 assists and seven service aces on the season. She was named GLIAC Player of the Week three times this season. Kirk was named to the All-GLIAC First Team for the second straight season. She was also named the GLIAC Tournament MVP for her outstanding performance in the tournament.

Helsen ranks second on the team averaging 2.53 digs and is third on the team with 2.58 kills. Megan is also second on the team with 34 services aces on the year. Helsen earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors this season.
