Senior middle hitter Sabrina Bird was named the GLIAC Player of the Week for the third time this season as she helped lead #23 Grand Valley State to two more GLIAC wins over the weekend.

In the two matches, she tallied 27 kills, (4.5/game), 47 total attacks, a .511 attack percentage, four service aces, and six blocks. As the Lakers defeated Northwood, 3-0, Bird tallied a team-high 14 kills, 21 total attacks, and no errors, for a .667 attack percentage. She also added two service aces and four blocks. In a 3-0 win over Saginaw Valley, Sabrina recorded 13 kills, a .385 hitting percentage, two aces, and two blocks.

The Lakers will travel up north to conclude GLIAC play next weekend. GVSU will play at Northern Michigan on Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m., Michigan Tech on Nov. 8 at 4:00 p.m., and Lake Superior State on Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m.
