Sophomore Megan Helsen was named the GLIAC Player of the Week, after leading the #11 the Lakers to a 2-0 record last week, including a 3-1 win over #18 Northwood.

Helsen posted 4.14 kills, a .490 attack percentage, 3.43 digs, 0.57 aces, and 1.00 blocks per game. Megan tallied 16 kills, 13 digs, five assisted blocks, three aces, and a .412 hitting percentage against the nationally-ranked Timberwolves. Helsen came back and added 13 kills, 11 digs, two assisted blocks, and hit .647 in the Lakers 3-0 sweep over Saginaw Valley State.

GVSU will host Lake Superior State on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m., Northern Michigan on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m., and will play Michigan Tech at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in the Volley Bash on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 5:00 p.m.
