Grand Valley State associate head coach Jason Johnson resigned from GVSU to take a position with the Michigan Volleyball Academy in Grand Rapids, Mich. Johnson accepted the Director of Volleyball Operations position, ending his 12-year coaching run with the Laker volleyball program.
The Michigan Volleyball Academy (MVA) is a year-round training and travel volleyball facility. "Jason has played an important role in the success we have experienced at Grand Valley State over the last decade," said GVSU head coach Deanne Scanlon. "Although I will miss working with him on a daily basis, I am very excited for him and his family. It has been an awesome experience working together for the last 12 years and I wish him the best."
Johnson joined the Laker program in the 1997 season and maintained the assistant coaching role until 2005.
