Grand Valley State won its fourth straight NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship title as they defeated Northern Kentucky, 3-0 (30-20, 30-27, 30-25) Saturday. The Lakers will advance to the NCAA Elite Eight for the fourth year in a row.

Leading the way for the Lakers was Sabrina Bird who tallied 14 kills, three service aces, four assisted blocks, and a .684 attack percentage. Megan Helsen tallied 10 kills and eight digs, while Tracy Kirk recorded 10 kills and six blocks. Stephanie Maciasz added a team-high eight assisted blocks, while Molly Young had a team-high 14 digs.

Grand Valley recorded an outstanding .404 attack percentage, while holding Northern Kentucky to a .150 hitting percentage. The two teams met once earlier in the season (Sept. 12) and NKU won 3-2.
