Grand Valley State met Wheeling Jesuit for the third time of the season Friday night. This time, however, GVSU came up with a 3-0 (21-30, 30-22, 29-31, 30-27, 15-11) win. The win advances the Lakers to the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship match.

Stephanie Maciasz led the Lakers with a team-high 14 kills, three assisted blocks, and a .379 attack percentage. Sabrina Bird recorded 11 kills, five digs, and a team-high seven assisted blocks, while Tracy Kirk also added 11 kills and four digs. Melissa Reneski tallied a team-high 14 digs and Megan Helsen and Molly Young each added 11 digs for the Lakers. Nicole Bayle led GVSU with 47 assists.

Grand Valley State will meet Northern Kentucky in the Great Lakes Regional Championship match on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The two teams met earlier in the year (Sept. 12) where NKU picked up a 3-2 win.
