Grand Valley State's season came to an end with a 3-1 (30-27, 30-19, 23-30, 30-28) loss to Northern Michigan in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Region Tournament. The Lakers end the season with a 27-7 overall record.

Grand Valley outhit NMU .218 to .170, but the Lakers recorded 16 service errors, while NMU recorded just three. Senior Stephanie Maciasz recorded a team-high 19 kills, a .341 attack percentage, and two assisted blocks. Junior Tracy Kirk posted 14 kills, six digs and four assisted blocks, while junior Tina Tromblay added 12 kills, 13 digs and four assisted blocks. Freshman Cortney Lokker tallied 10 kills, 13 digs, and two assisted blocks and junior Lauren Hanson added 10 kills and seven assisted blocks. Redshirt freshman Alyson Riley reocrded a team-high 20 digs. Senior Leah Kunz led the team with 35 assists and junior Michele Ehrlich added 24.

Grand Valley had won four consecutive Great Lakes Regional Championships, earning four trips to the NCAA Elite Eight, advancing to the Semifinals the past three years.
