Grand Valley State swept Charleston, 3-0 (30-13, 30-25, 30-16) to advance to the semifinals of the Great Lakes Regional Tournament. GVSU improves to 27-6 and will face Northwood on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the GVSU Fieldhouse.

Grand Valley came out strong, hitting .387 to win game one 30-13. Game two was close, but GVSU tallied a 30-25 win. The Lakers closed out the match by hitting .429 as a team to win game three, 30-16.

Junior middle blocker Meghan Moore tallied a match-high 11 kills, a .409 hitting percentage, and two solo and six assisted blocks. Junior outside hitter Megan Helsen recorded 10 kills, seven digs, and a .389 attack percentage.

Senior middle blocker Tracy Kirk posted nine kills, four service aces, and three digs, while hitting .471. Sophomore Cortney Lokker and sophomore Alyson Riley each added 12 digs. Redshirt freshman setter Jamie Ashmore tallied eight digs and 34 assists.

Grand Valley State hit .304 as a team, while Charleston hit just .000. The Lakers tallied 10 service aces and 9.5 team blocks.

GVSU advanced to the semifinals last season in the Great Lakes Regional Tournament, but fell to Northern Michigan, 3-1.
