#21 Grand Valley State fell to #14 Northern Michigan, 3-1, (28-30, 30-26, 12-30, 18-30) in a GLIAC contest on Friday. GVSU is now 22-6 overall and 14-2 in GLIAC play. The Lakers will continue their trip up north by playing Michigan Tech Saturday at 4 p.m. and Lake Superior on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The two senior led the way for the Lakers as Nicole Bayle tallied a .375 attack percentage, 41 assists, 11 digs, and five blocks, while Sabrina Bird recorded 18 kills, a .351 attack percentage, and six blocks.

Sophomore Melissa Reneski added a team-high 18 digs, freshman Molly Young recorded 11 digs, and freshman Megan Helsen had 11 kills.

Northern Michigan hit .305 in the match and held the Lakers to -.075 in game four and .133 in game five to seal the victory. The Wildcats remain undefeated as they improve to 22-0 overall and 17-0 in the GLIAC.
