#11 Grand Valley State swept Saginaw Valley, 3-0 (30-23, 30-16, 30-23) Saturday afternoon. The Lakers improve to 22-4 overall and 14-1 in GLIAC play. GVSU will host Lake Superior State on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m., Northern Michigan on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m., and will play Michigan Tech at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in the Volley Bash on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 5:00 p.m.
Grand Valley tallied a 30-23 game one win and then hit .560 in game two to pick up a 30-16 win. GVSU closed out the match winning game three, 30-23. The Lakers hit an outstanding .363 on the match, while the Cardinals recorded a .170 attack percentage.
Sophomore Megan Helsen posted 13 kills, a .647 attack percentage, 11 digs, and two assisted blocks. Junior Tracy Kirk recorded 13 kills, three aces, and two assisted blocks, while redshirt freshman Erica Vandekopple added 10 kills for the Lakers. Redshirt freshman Alyson Riley tallied 11 digs, while sophomore Molly Young added eight. Senior Leah Kunz posted 22 assists and junior Michele Ehrlich added 21.
