Grand Valley State defeated Wayne State, 3-2 (30-18, 30-27, 28-30, 24-30, 15-6), Saturday. The Lakers are now 19-5 overall and 11-1 in GLIAC play. GVSU will travel to Ferris State on Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m.

Melissa Reneski tallied 17 kills, 44 total attacks, and nine digs for the Lakers, while Tracy Kirk and Stephanie Maciasz each added 12 kills. Sabrina Bird recorded 11 kills and four assisted blocks. Molly Young led GVSU with a team-high 30 digs. Nicole Bayle tallied 52 assists and 16 digs, while Katie Horvath added 12 digs.
