Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State used a team effort to sweep Bellarmine, 3-0 (30-22, 30-19, 30-22) as everyone saw action and 12 players picked up at least one kill. The Lakers who are ranked number four in the latest AVCA Top 25 improve to 8-1 in 2002. The victory was the second in as many games for GVSU in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover tournament, which will conclude with a matchup against SIU-Edwardsville at 5:30 on Saturday (Sept. 14).

GVSU totaled 53 kills by 12 different players with a .336 attack percentage. Sophomore Elisa Joris led the Lakers with 10 kills in only 13 attacks and Carly Miller added 8. Janelle Glaesmer and Sabrina Bird both tallied 6 kills, while Tracy Kirk and Nicole Bayle added five apiece. Chara Fehsenfeld and Traci Skrzypek recorded 12 and 9 digs, respectively.
