#10 Grand Valley State fell, 3-1 (27-30, 30-25, 18-30, 21-30) to #22 Pittsburg State at the University North Alabama Classic on Saturday afternoon. GVSU falls to 1-2 overall and will play Southern Arkansas at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

Pittsburg State hit .327 as a team, while holding GVSU to a .218 attack percentage. Leading the way for the Lakers, was junior Tracy Kirk who recorded a team-high 16 kills, 32 total attacks for a .375 attack percentage. Senior Stephanie Maciasz had 11 kills and hit .375. Juniors Lauren Hanson and Tina Tromblay each tallied 12 kills, while sophomore Molly Young posted a team-high 16 digs. Senior setter Leah Kunz recorded 41 assists.

Pittsburg State won game one, 30-27, but GVSU came back to win game two, 30-25. However, Pittsburg State won both games three, 30-18, and four, 30-21, to seal the win.
