Kristy Kale is beginning her second season as an assistant coach for the Grand Valley State volleyball team.
Kale played volleyball for the Lakers from 1997-2000. During her career at GVSU, Kale earned All-GLIAC First Team, All-Region, All-Region All-Tournament, All-American AVCA, and ASICS All-American honors. She also holds the career assists (5,441) and game assists records.
Kristy has also coached several AAU and Club programs in the Grand Rapids area. While attending GVSU, Kristy worked at the Lakers camps and also several camps and clinics in the Grand Rapids area.
In 2001-02, Kale was an assistant coach at Emporia State University, where she coached the team to a third place finish in the MIAA.
Kristy graduated from Grand Valley in 2001 with a degree in public relations. She recently finished her master’s in higher education at GVSU.
