New Orleans, La. - Grand Valley State's women's track and field team tied with Slippery Rock and Shippensburg with the most individual athletes on the 2010 Division II All-Academic Team, as released by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday (July 29). The Lakers were represented with 12 student-athletes on the 2010 list.
The USTFCCCA honors Division II individuals for their academic and athletic achievements during the indoor and outdoor track and field season. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event. A total of 276 student-athletes representing 72 Division II colleges and universities made up the 2010 All-Academic team.
GVSU's 2010 All-Academic Team award winners are Lynsey Ardingo, Ashley Botham, Kelly Crowley, Maegan Doyen, Leiah Hess, Christi Kettelhut, Monica Kinney, Amy Kolin, Megan Maceratini, Karie McDonald, Emily McKerchie and Sara Parks.
