EUGENE, Ore. - Karie McDonald led five Grand Valley State student-athletes at the U.S. Track & Field Championships over the weekend. McDonald earned a third-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:12.77.
Monica Kinney was the only other runner on the women's side, and she took a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter with a time of 4:34.26.
Bryant Wilson, Pat Bond and Matt Armstrong all competed in field events at the meet. Armstrong led the way with an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 58-8.50. Bond was 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 185-9, while Wilson did not record a height in the pole vault.
Wilson competed in the senior section of the meet, while the other four were competing in the U.S. Junior Track & Field Championships.
