Grand Valley State cross country and track & field head coach Jerry Baltes announced the signing of 19 student-athletes for the 2005-06 season. GVSU signed 11 women and eight men. "We are excited for this incoming class of student-athletes," said Baltes. "We feel this group of student-athletes have what it takes to help take our program to the next level."
Sara Trumbull, from Pickney, Mich., will compete in the hurdles and the long jump. In the 300 hurdles, she ran a 44.32 and took fourth place at the Division I state finals in 2004. She also placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 17'6".
Dianna Noonan, a Frankfort, Ill. native (Lincoln Way East High School), was the 2005 Indoor Top Times Champion with a mark of 12'0" in the pole vault.
Kirsten Nozime, from Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community College, holds a personal best of 46.9 in the 300m hurdles and 15.2 in the 100m hurdles.
Stephanie Kurcab (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove) has posted personal best marks of 37'1" in the triple jump and 17'3" in the long jump.
Laci Lindke, a Deckerville, Mich., native, has tallied personal bests in the 400m (60.78) and the 800m (2:25.12).
Lynsey Ardingo, also from Pickney, Mich., will compete in both cross country and track. Her best time in the 5K during cross country season was 19:08, while she posted a time of 11:41 in the 3200m.
Shakura Weathers, from Country Club Hills, Ill./Hillscrest High School, will be a sprinter for the Lakers. She has recorded a personal best time of 12.95 in the 100m.
Embriette Hyde, a native of Wayland, Mich./Union, set a personal best time of 47.4 in the 300m hurdles.
Natalie Grabowski, is from Brighton, Mich. and will be a distance runner for the Lakers.
Lauren Ball, from Mt. Pleasant, Mich., holds a personal best time in the 300m hurdles or 46.8.
Amy Abbott, is from Nashville, Mich./Maple Valley High School, and will compete in the hurdles for GVSU. She took fourth place in the MHSAA Division III state meet in the 300m hurdles with a time of 47.73. She placed seventh in the 100m hurdles, running a 16.07.

Kyle Heather, from Allegan, Mich. placed fourth at the Division 2 state meet in the 400m with a time of 49.72.
Stephen Derico, a native from Rochester, Mich./Notre Dame Prep High School, will run cross country and be a distance runner for GVSU. His personal best is 16:12 in the 5K in cross country and a 4:30 in the 1600m.
Michael Plambo, from Livonia, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central, holds personal bests in the 100m (10.9) and 200m (22.4).
Benjamin McCune, a Elgin, Ill./Larkin High School native, recorded personal bests in the 5K in cross country with a time of 16:27 and 4:29 in the 1600m.
Mackenzie Lucius, from Flushing, Mich., placed fourth in the 400m in the 2005 Indoor State Championship with a time of 49.80. His brother, Garron, currently runs for Grand Valley.
Robert Coffey, from Allendale, Mich. has a personal best of 51' in the shot put.
Mitch Bosch, a Hamliton, Mich. native, will also be a thrower for GVSU. His personal best in the discus is 154', while he recorded a 43' in the shot put.
