Findlay, Ohio - Grand Valley State claimed three GLIAC titles and jumped out to an early lead at the 2006 GLIAC Track & Field Championships in Findlay, Ohio Friday. The Lakers scored 69 points, well ahead of second-place Saginaw Valley State's 42. The second and final day of competition will take place Saturday. Grand Valley State is looking for its seventh straight GLIAC Indoor title.

Morgan Acre notched a winning throw of 57-11 in the weight throw for the GLIAC title, while Laura Aderman crossed first in the women's 5000m run (17:35.18). Karla Singleton was third in the 5000 (17:44.65). GVSU finished one-two-three in the pole vault, led by GLIAC Champion Lindsey Jones (12-3). Rachel Duthler was second (12-3) and Aleisha Taylor third (11-7.75). Jameka Brown finished fourth in the long jump (17-7.50) the women's distance medley team crossed in second (11:47.17).
