Two Laker women qualified for the finals in the 1,500m at the 2004 Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Walnut Calif., as junior Steph Kuhlman finished third in her heat with a time of 4:35.84, while junior Krista O'Dell was fifth in her heat with a time of 4:33.66. O'Dell will also run in the 3,000m finals as she tallied a prelim time of 10:00.84, while junior Natalie Ewing fell short of qualifying for the final round with a time of 10:20.67.
Sophomore Ashley Thomas ran a 56.94 in the 400m, which did not qualify her for the finals and freshman Jenn O'Shesky just miss making the finals in the 400m hurdles with a time of 61.68. On the men's side, sophomore Kenny Coleman tallied a time of 48.18, which did not qualify him for the finals.
Kuhlman will be running the 800m, Ewing will race in the 5,000m, and freshman John Ybarra will compete in the shot put on Friday. The finals will be held on Saturday.
