Edwardsville, Ill. - Stephanie Kuhlman capped a sensational season by claiming the National Championship in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:05.34 at the NCAA DII Track & Field National Championships in Edwardsville, Ill. Grand Valley State finished 10th in the final team standings with 22 points.

In addition to Kuhlman, GVSU received outstanding performances by several athletes. Krista O'Dell finished fourth in the 1500 with a time of 4:32.65, while Natalie Ewing earned her second All-American honor of the meet with an eighth-place finish in the 5000 meter run (17:05.67.

On the Men's side, Ben Hirdes finished second in the pole vault with a height of 16-6.75.
