Big Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's outdoor track & field team captured its seventh straight GLIAC Outdoor T&F Championship Friday afternoon at Ferris State in dominating fashion. GVSU tallied 269 points, easily outdistancing second place Ashland (140) by 129 poits. In addition, it marked the fourth straight year that GVSU swept the women's triple crown of cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field titles. GVSU head coach Jerry Baltes was named GLIAC Coach of the Year for the sixth straight year.
"I am so proud of how this team performed the last two days," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "This team showed what a true team from top to bottom can do with hard work and determination and I can't say enough about our depth as we placed two or more among the top eight in 18 events," added Baltes.
