Grand Valley State's women's track and field team send separate squads to the Cougar Classic hosted by SIUE and the Bulldog Invitational hosted at Ferris State. GVSU will compete in the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. on Thursday and Friday and at the DII Challenge in Emporia, Kan.

Sophomore Brandi Murrell took second place in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:18.65, while freshman Heather VanderSlik tied for second in the high jump (5-01.00). Junior Rachel Duthler won the pole vault (12-02.00), freshman Dianna Noonan placed second (11-08.00), and sophomore Lindsey Jones took third (11-04.00).

Freshman Lauren Ball won the long jump (17-08.75), senior Pam Treppa finished second (17-08.25), and freshman Jameka Brown took third in the long jump (17-08.25). Freshman Mary Bogner placed second in the discus throw (135-06) and freshman Emily Fox took second in the hammer throw with a mark of 150-07. At the Bulldog Invite, Stephanie Kandas won the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 11:57.50 and Lindsey Jacob took first in the javelin throw (108-08).
