Grand Valley State's women's track and field team had two athletes record NCAA Provisional Qualifying times at the Bulldogs Invitational hosted by Ferris State on Saturday.

Adrian Chouinard ran a 10:12.40 in the 3,000 meter run, while Morgan Acre recorded a throw of 174'04" in the hammer throw.

"These were both nice steps forward for these two athletes," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "We will look for them to continue to improve."

Both the women's and men's squads are coming along nicely," Baltes added. "We feel if we keep progressing we should be able to do some great things come the end of the year."

The Lakers will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Sea Ray Relays on April 14-16 and will also host the Al Owens Classic on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Lubbers Stadium.
