Results

Grand Valley State opened the 2006 Outdoor Track season with its pole vaulters competing at the 49er Classic hosted by the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. GVSU will compete in the Sacramento State Invite on March 25 in Sacramento, Calif.

One the women's side, the Lakers swept the top three spots. Winning the event, was junior Rachel Duthler with an NCAA Qualifying vault if 12'3.5". Freshman Dianna Noonan took second place as she also tallied an NCAA Qualifying mark of 11'11.75". Sophomore Lindsey Jones placed third with a vault of 11'5.75".

Last week, all three women earned all-american honors at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships held in Boston.

On the men's side, senior Brian Beach tallied a second place finish with a mark of 15'1".
