Results

Grand Valley State competed in the Saginaw Valley D2 Team Challenge Saturday. Three men and two women recorded NCAA Qualfying marks on the day. GVSU will host the Mike Lints Laker Open on Friday, Feb. 13 at 5:00 p.m.

On the women's side, Alex Baker qualified in the 60 hurdles, finishing second with a time of 9.00 and Krista O'Dell recorded a time of 2:12.82 in the 800 meter run for a second place finish.

For the men, Nick Natale qualified in the shot put with a first place throw of 54-04.50 and second in the weight throw with a distance of 55-03.00. Charles Smith tallied a mark of 54-06.00 in the weight throw and Ian Morrison finished second in the shot put with a mark of 52-01.50.

"Nick Natale had a great meet qualifying in both throwing events," said head coach Jerry Baltes.

"This was a good step forward for us," said Baltes. "We had some break through performances and dominated a couple of the events."
