Grand Valley State's men's and women's track and field teams broke four school records and posted eight NCAA National Qualifying marks at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State.
Leading the way for the Laker women was Jennifer O'Shesky who broke her own school record in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.73. Her time took second place at the meet and also was an NCAA Qualifying mark. Karlie Singleton ran a 10:03.22 to set a school record in the 3,000. Mandi Zemba, Kristen Kulczycki, Stephanie Kuhlman, and Krista O'Dell set a school record and an NCAA Qualifying mark at the Division II Challenge at Findlay with a time of 11:44.70.
Susie Rivard posted an NCAA Qualifying time of 2:15.80 in the 800, Krista O'Dell set a mark with a time of 4:51.43 in the mile, and Bethany Hecksel recorded a 11-05.75 in the pole vault.
The men's distance medley team of Nate Peck, Kenny Coleman, John Collins, and Don Wilkins set a school record and an NCAA Qualifying mark of 10:06.53. Kenny Coleman recorded an NCAA Qualifying mark in the 400 meter dash as he won with a time of 48.74. Charles Smith also recorded a mark in the weight throw with a mark of 56-09.50.

"We need to get a little bit better each week leading up to the GLIAC meet and then we will be prepared to defend our titles," added Baltes.
