Grand Valley State's women's indoor track and field team tallied 39 points on the first day of the NCAA II Team Challenge hosted by the University of Findlay. GVSU is in first place, 22 points ahead of second place Ferris State. The final day of competition will begin on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
The women's distance medley relay team tallied a first place finish, recording an NCAA provisional time of 12:19.91. The Laker women dominated the pole vault, taking the top four spots for 29 points. All four women also recorded NCAA qualifying marks. Sophomore Dianna Noonan won the event with a jump of 12-01.50, while junior Lindsey Jones and senior Rachel Duthler tied for second place (11-07.75). Sophomore Kellie Kieren finished in fourth place with a mark of 11-07.75.
