Senior Jenna Killips (Ludington, Mich.) was honored to the All-GLIAC First Team for her performance this season. Killips spent her season playing in the No. 1 singles slot playing against the highest competition in the GLIAC. Killips went 10-6 overall on the season, earning a 5-3 record in conference play. Killips also teamed up with Emily Zellner to compile a 14-3 record in doubles play on the season. The duo put together an impressive 7-1 record in its eight GLIAC matches.
Numerous other Lakers also garnered postseason awards. Junior Audrey Koopsen (Kalamazoo, Mich.), freshmen Darylann Trout (Clarkston, Mich.) and Chelsea Johnston (Novi, Mich.) were named to the All-GLIAC Second Team. Koopsen and Trout each earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors during the season. Koopsen spent the majority of her season in the #2 doubles slot and went 12-5 on the year, including a 7-2 GLIAC mark. Koopsen played in the #1 doubles position with McCall Monte and went 13-6 on the season.
Trout rolled through the GLIAC in singles and doubles without losing a match. She spent most of her season playing in the No. 5 singles slot and finished the season with a 9-0 conference record. Trout also teamed up with fellow freshman Johnston for a perfect 8-0 record in doubles action, giving her an unbeaten 17-0 combined record in the conference. Johnston compiled a 12-4 overall singles record while going 7-2 in the GLIAC.
Four Lakers, Emily Zellner, Katelyn Grashorn, McCall Monte, and Jackie Shipman were presented with All-GLIAC Honorable Mention awards. Senior Zellner (Midland, Mich.) earned a 14-3 record in the No. 2 doubles with Killips. Grashorn, a junior from Rockford, Mich., played No. 4 singles and earned a 12-2 record on the year. Sophomore Monte (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.) played with Koopsen in No. 1 doubles and went 13-6. Freshman Shipman of Saline, Mich. played in No. 6 singles and recorded an impressive 12-1 mark on the year.
