The Grand Valley State men's and women's tennis teams have earned the right to play for a national championship. Head Coach John Black has now led the men's team to the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year, also marking just the third time in school history. The women will be making their fifth straight appearance, as Black has led them in each of his five years at the helm. The men will travel to Midland, Mich., where Northwood is the host school. The women will take the court in Springfield, Mo., where Drury will host. Play will begin for both teams on May 3rd.
The men's team finished the regular season with a 16-5 record and a second place finish in the GLIAC. GVSU earned the No. 3 seed in the Great Lakes Region. GVSU will face the sixth-seeded Ferris State Bulldogs (10-7) on May 3 at 3:00 pm in Midland, Mich. GVSU defeated Ferris State by an 8-1 score on April 5th in Big Rapids.
