Box Score

The Grand Valley State women's tennis team earned a 5-0 victory in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament over Ferris State. GVSU swept doubles play and needed just two singles matchups to defeat the Bulldogs. The Lakers advance to the second round and will play Wayne State. The second round will also be completed on Saturday, and the match was scheduled for 4:45.

The familiar duo of Audrey Koopsen and McCall Monte earned a victory in No. 1 doubles by an 8-3 count over Amy Ingle and Amy Grant. Jenna Killips and Emily Zellner held down the No. 2 doubles slot with an 8-2 win, while Darylann Trout and Chelsea Johnston also earned a quick, 8-2 win in No. 3 doubles.

GLIAC Player of the Week Trout picked up one of the two singles victories with a 6-3, 6-2 win in the No. 5 singles slot. The other win came by Johnston, who earned a 6-3, 6-2 in #3 singles. The two singles wins gave GVSU enough to secure the match over their West Michigan rival by a 5-0 count.
