Nikki Fairchild won at #2 singles and earned All-GLIAC honors

Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State defeated Northwood 5-3 in the third place match on Saturday at the GLIAC Championships in the Midland Tennis Center. The Lakers won three singles matches and earned two doubles victories in the match. GVSU also finished third overall in the GLIAC after finishing in third place in the regular season standings. Ferris State, who defeated GVSU in the semifinals, won the 2002 conference title over Northern Michigan. Nikki Fairchild and Marie Cameron earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors for their efforts over the season.

Fairchild also won her singles match vs. NU at the #2 singles spot 6-2, 7-5. Alison Koopsen and Kim VanSprange won at #3 and #6 singles, respectively. Marie Cameron and Kellen Lynch earned a win at #2 doubles while Koopsen and VanSprange won at #3 doubles.
