Grand Valley State’s Women’s Tennis team improved it’s overall record to 8-2 with a win against Tiffin University on Sunday. The Laker women defeated Tiffin 9-0 to improve their GLIAC record to 7-2. The Lakers will travel to Lansing next weekend to compete in the GLIAC Tournament.
The Lakers were strong in singles competition. #1 Katelyn Schaffer won a close match 6-3, 6-4. #2 Chelsea Johnston cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win, while #3 Darylann Trout and #4 Rachel Rendina dominated their matches both winning 6-0, 6-0.
In Doubles play #1 Darylann Trout and Chelsea Johnston downed their opponent 8-2. At #2 Katelyn Schaffer and Katelyn Grashorn made quick work of their match winning 8-0. Tiffin was forced to forfeit the #5 and #6 singles as well as the #3 doubles matches.
