The Grand Valley State women's tennis team extended its win streak to three games with a 9-0 defeat of Saginaw Valley State. GVSU took all three doubles and all six singles matches from the Cardinals. The Lakers will face Ferris State in a key GLIAC matchup at home on Tuesday, October 10 at 3:30 pm.

Lindsay Grimmer defeated Katie Hanover, 6-4, 6-3 in the #1 singles slot. In No. 2 singles, junior Jenna Killups blanked Maggie Dodson, 6-0, 6-0. Emily Zellner slid into No. 3 singles and beat SVSU's Danielle Coldren in two sets, 6-4, 7-5. Freshman McCall Monte was victorious in three sets, 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 10-8. Jaime Oppenlander and Whitney Bindus had no problem with their opponents, each winning by 6-0, 6-1 counts.

GVSU held the redbirds in check in doubles action as well. Lindsay Grimmer and Emily Zellner beat Danielle Coldren and Maria Perez, 8-5. Aurdrey Koopsen and McCall Monte continued their winning ways with an 8-2 victory. In No. 3 slot, Jenna Killips and Jaime Oppenlander defeated Jessica Stone and Jessica Jones, 8-2.
