Grand Valley State's women's tennis team swept Ashland, 9-0, Saturday morning to improve to 7-2 overall and 6-2 in GLIAC action. The Lakers will host Ferris State on Saturday, Oct. 9 at noon.

Senior Marie Cameron won a 6-1, 6-1, decision at #1 singles, junior Allison Koopsen picked up a 6-0, 6-2 decision at #2 singles, while freshman Arcelia Gomez tallied a 6-0, 6-0 win in the #3 singles slot. Freshman Jenna Killips won 6-3, 6-2 at #4 singles, freshman Emily Zellner tallied a 6-4, 6-0 victory at #5 singles, and senior Natalie Pallett rounded out the singles wins with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at #6 singles.

Zellner and Koopsen teammed up for an 8-3 victory at #1 doubles, while Cameron and Gomez won, 8-1, at #2 doubles. Killips and senior Zanobia Syed picked up an 8-5 win at #3 doubles.
