Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State claimed a 6-3 victory over Northwood Tuesday in women's tennis at the GVSU tennis courts. The Lakers claimed wins in four of six singles matches and two of three doubles. The Lakers improved to 7-2 both overall and GLIAC action.

Nikki Fairchild claimed a 6-4, 6-2 victory at number two singles, while Kellen Lynch won at number three singles, 6-3, 7-5. Stephanie Donston claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win at number five singles and Kim VanSprange won a three-set match at number six singles (6-1, 4-6, 6-1).

The Lakers claimed an 8-5 win at number two doubles and an 8-0 win at number three. The Lakers will return to action on October 11 versus Mercyhurst.
