In the A singles championship, all five GVSU student-athletes in the draw came away with victories in the first round, all in straight sets. Carola Orna had the most dominating victory, taking a 6-0, 6-1 decision from Illinois-Springfield's Danielle Mendoza.

In the second round, two Lakers were able to continue on. In the first round, she defeated Jala Hamada from Davis & Elkins by a score of 6-2, 6-2.

Niki Shipman won her first-round match over Davis & Elkins' Halima Michael (6-3, 6-2), but fell in the second round by a score of 6-1, 6-1 to Rockhurst's Emma Schlelble. Lexi Rice, who won her first match 6-2, 6-3 over Bellarmine's Evann Waschuk, also fell in the second round, dropping a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Missouri-St. Louis' Natalia Carvalhais. Orna fell in the round of 32 as well by a score of 6-2, 6-0 to Lewis' Zsofia Lanstiak, the #1 seed in the tournament.

In the B singles championship, the Lakers had nearly just as much success. Kelly Trapp rolled to two consecutive 6-0, 6-0 victories. In the first round, she defeated Jordyn Walker (Alderson Broaddus) and then took down Southern Indiana's Elizabeth Skinner to advance to the quarterfinals. She is joined in the round of eight by teammate Morgan Patterson, who won 6-0, 6-0 over Illinois-Springfield's Elizabeth Purcell in the first round and then took a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Wayne State's Jessica Kruczek. Kristina Lucas dropped her first round match in a tight battle, 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 to Indianapolis' Kasey Land.

The team of Orna and Rice had a successful first day in the A doubles championship, winning their first two rounds of matches. They first took an 8-4 decision over Bellarmine's Claeys/Hanley, then beat Missouri-St. Louis' Carvalhais/Parra, 8-5 to advance to the quarterfinals. Dancz/Phillips dropped their first round match 9-8 (8-5) to Missouri-St. Louis' Verboven/Werner.

In the B doubles championship, the Lakers are seemingly taking over. After earning a bye in the first round, the team of Lucas/Trapp beat SVSU's Giordano/Majani 8-2 to advance right in to the semifinals. On the other half of the bracket, teammates Patterson/Shipman won their round of 16 match 8-0 over Illinois-Springfield's Latif/Purcell, then beat Davis & Elkins' Prieto/Ridgway by an 8-0 score in the quarterfinals to put themselves in the semifinals as well.
