Grand Valley State's women's tennis team maintained its perfect record, defeating Michigan Tech 8-1 on Friday afternoon. The Lakers improve to 3-0 overall and in GLIAC action. GVSU will host Lake Superior State in another conference match on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10:00 a.m.

Grand Valley won two out of three doubles matches and then swept all six singles matches to pick up the win. Alison Koopsen and Emily Zellner won at #1 doubles, 8-6, while Jenna Killips and Audrey Koopsen won 8-0 at #3 doubles. Lindsay Grimmer and Jaime Oppenlander suffered an 8-3 loss in the #2 doubles slot.

Alison Koopsen defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1 at #1 singles and Grimmer won 6-2, 6-3 at #2 singles. Killips picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win in the #3 singles slot, while Zellner tallied a 6-2, 7-5 victory at #4 singles. Sarah Schweickart won 6-1, 6-1 at #5 singles and Audrey Koopsen won 6-2, 6-0 at #6 singles.
