The Grand Valley State womens's tennis team's season came to an end on Saturday in Springfield, Mo. The Drury Panthers defeated the Lakers by a 5-0 count. This marks the second time this season the Panthers have defeated GVSU, as they won 6-3 on March, 30th. On Saturday, Drury swept doubles play and took its first two singles matchups on its way to victory. Drury advances to the sweet 16, while Grand Valley ends its season with a 19-9 record.

In No. 1 doubles, the team of Mouna Sabri and Khrystsina Tryboi downed Emily Zellner Lindsay Grimmer, 8-3. The team of Audrey Koopsen and McCall Monte dropped a close 9-7 matchup to Alejandra Miranda-Sa and Megan Blosser. Also victorious for Drury was Thu Mai and Eva Hankova, who knocked off Jenna Killips and Jaime Oppenlander, 8-2.

In singles play, Grand Valley State fell in the No. 2 and 3 slots. Killips fell in straight sets to Miranda-Sanchez, 6-2, 6-1. Koopsen also fell in two sets, 6-0, 6-1. The remaining matches were unfinished as the two singles wins sealed the 5-0 vicotry for Drury.

GVSU ends its successful campaign with a 19-9 record and a second place finish in the GLIAC. With no seniors on the squad, the Lakers will return all seven of their team members next season.
