Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State earned an easy 8-1 win over Southern Indiana on Sunday at Riverview Tennis Club. The Lakers won all three doubles matches and cruised to the win by winning five of the six singles. The Lakers are ranked #27 in the country and improve their record for the year to 17-4.
GVSU has won six of seven matches they have played in the spring. Nikki Fairchild has led they way with an overall record of 20-4 on the year at #2 singles, including a 6-3, 6-2 victory against USI on Sunday.
Marie Cameron and Kellen Lynch teamed up for an 8-2 win at #2 doubles to improve their record to 17-4 on the year while Kim VanSprange and Alison Koopsen won at #3 doubles 8-3 to bump their mark to 11-1 as a duo.
The Lakers will finish their regular season matches with a battle at #18 Ferris State on Tuesday, April 8, and a contest against Aquinas on Thursday, April 10.
